All donations, charitable gifts, and memorials of any size made to SMP Health – Ave Maria are greatly appreciated. Donations can be sent by mail or dropped off at the business office during business hours and are tax deductible.

For memorials, please include the name(s) of the person(s) whom you wish to memorialize.

DEVELOPMENT AND PLANNED GIVING

We initiated a formal development program in 2012 to provide an avenue for various forms of charitable giving. This program helps us continue our mission of carrying out the healing ministry of Jesus. Our development program is helping us establish a firm financial foundation as we look to the future.

Gifts received in the capital campaign carried several years ago have allowed us to add the Good Shepherd Chapel, the transportation center, and the McCoy Family Suite. More recently, we have renovated our two resident bathing suites and added a new walk-in cooler and freezer in our dietary department. We are working on a complete kitchen remodel, with new equipment, fixtures and finishes.

We are also currently raising funds for the addition and creation of more private rooms for our residents. This is necessary to meet the needs and wants of our current and future clientele who expect more space, greater privacy, more frequent and convenient bathing arrangements, and more amenities and conveniences.

Besides outright cash gifts, detailed below are a number of other ways you can help support our ministry and assure that SMP Health – Ave Maria is here to meet the needs of the people of our community and region for years to come.



Endowment

SMP Health - Ave Maria has an endowment fund available. If you would like to give a gift that will have long-lasting effects, giving a gift to the endowment is a wonderful choice. A state tax credit of 40% up to a total of $10,000 is available on these types of gifts.



Tribute

Sending a gift in honor of one or more individuals on their birthday, anniversary, Mother's or Father's Day, Christmas, or any other special occasion or event is another option for giving. As with memorials, even smaller tribute gifts add up over time.



Memorials

Memorial gifts can help in many areas. Collectively, small gifts add up to large amounts over time. For a gift of $250 or more, a past resident can be memorialized on a special plaque located in the main lobby.



Regular Charitable Giving

If you’d like to donate regularly, you can make arrangements with your bank to take a certain amount out of your checking or savings account and send it to SMP Health - Ave Maria under the terms of your choosing.



Life Insurance Options

Make SMP Health - Ave Maria the beneficiary of your life insurance policy. Alternatively, using a method called wealth replacement, you can give your heirs a life insurance policy which is not taxed, and give SMP Health - Ave Maria items that would otherwise be taxed, due to our status as a 501©3, tax-exempt, not-for-profit organization.



Bequest in Your Will

Consider including SMP Health - Ave Maria in your will or estate plan. An addition can be made to your will or plan, which will give SMP Health Ave Maria a certain percentage of your estate, a certain item or items, a set amount of money, or a residual (remainder) or your estate after your heirs have been taken care of.

GO GREEN WITH SMP HEALTH – AVE MARIA

You can make money for SMP Health - Ave Maria through recycling items such as scrap metals, aluminum pop and beer cans, car batteries, etc. Just take your donations to West End Hide and Fur in Jamestown and let them know that proceeds are to be donated to SMP Health - Ave Maria in your name.
