At Maryhill, we believe our residents deserve more than excellent care they deserve a living space that feels like home. Our Spaces That Feel Like Home – Resident Room Refresh Project is focused on creating resident rooms that reflect warmth, comfort, and dignity, while also supporting a healthier care environment.

What We’ve Accomplished

With the generous support of the North Dakota Community Foundation and community donations, we have successfully completed five resident room remodels. These upgrades include:

• Fresh paint to brighten and refresh the room
• Updated lighting to improve comfort and visibility
• New window coverings to enhance privacy and create a more welcoming feel
• Supporting Infection Control and Safety: This project also supports infection control efforts — a critical priority in long-term care. As we continue the room refresh initiative, we plan to remove aging carpet and replace it with commercial-grade vinyl flooring. This type of flooring offers:
  • Waterproof protection
  • Easier cleaning and sanitizing
  • Sound reduction for a calmer environment
  • Durable wear, plus UV protection

This upgrade will help modernize resident rooms while improving cleanliness and long-term maintenance.

Looking Ahead to 2026

We recently completed our 2025 Tree of Lights Fundraiser, raising over $9,000. Starting in 2026, these funds will be used to continue our room remodel project and complete additional rooms at Maryhill.
Each room remodel costs approximately $2,500, and our goal is to complete five more rooms in the next phase.
