We have a dedicated Radiology Department to provide the best medical services possible. Our Radiologic Technologists and medical professionals are ready to help diagnose any medical issue that requires radiology services.   • Imaging is done on any of the modalities offered at St. Aloisius and can also be exported to larger facilities, including the Mayo Clinic.\u00a0 If we can’t export to the facility of your choice, we can put the images on a CD and mail them to your provider.<\/li>\n

    • If you have a pacemaker you cannot have a MRI on the mobile unit.<\/li>\n
    • There are no known harmful effects from exposure to the magnetic field or radio waves used during MRIs.<\/li>\n
    • If your scan requires the injection of a contrast material, there is a very small risk of an allergic reaction.<\/li>\n
    • If you are a metalworker, you may need to have an X-ray of your head before undergoing MRI. This will check to see if there are any tiny slivers of metal in your eyes, which could move during the MRI and possibly damage your eyes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>[vc_column_text][\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”CT SCAN” tab_id=”1554323871237-c9d3817f-5e84″]

      • A CT scan (also called a CAT scan) is an X-ray technique that produces images of your internal organs that are more detailed than those produced by conventional X-ray exams.<\/li>\n
      • CT scans use a powerful computer and an X-ray generating device that rotates around your body to create cross-sectional images of the inside of your body, like slices.<\/li>\n
      • CT scans can be done even if you have a pacemaker or an internal cardioverter defibrillator.         • If you’re pregnant, your doctor may recommend another type of exam to reduce the possible risk of exposing your fetus to radiation.<\/li>\n
        • If you have asthma or allergies and your CT scan requires a contrast medium, there’s a slight risk of an allergic reaction to the contrast medium.<\/li>\n
        • Diabetes, asthma, heart disease, kidney problems, or thyroid conditions also increase your risk of a reaction to contrast medium.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>[vc_column_text]CT scans at St. Aloisius are available 24\/7 and provide expedited reports (in one hour or less). A patient must have a physician\u2019s note to undergo a CT scan.
